Pre-Evensong Organ Recital: Edward Poston

Sunday, November 1, 3:35 p.m. Please bring a personal care item to donate to the Chatham Food Pantry. Edward Poston will present music of Bach, Dubois, Howells, and Karg-Elert. Poston, a native of Clearfield, Utah, holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in Organ & Church Music from Brigham Young University-Idaho and the University of Kansas, respectively. He is a doctoral student at the University of Kansas in the doctoral dissertation phase of his degree. An avid collaborator, Edward was a rehearsal pianist for KU Choirs from 2017–2025, and was the first associate conductor of the KU Bales Chorale Society from 2024–2025. He recently served as Associate Organist and Communications Coordinator at the Cathedral Church of St. Paul in Detroit, Michigan and now serves as Minister of Music at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Barnstable. A burgeoning hymnologist, Edward was a recipient of the Austin C. Lovelace Scholarship with the Hymn Society in the United States & Canada in 2023, 2024, and 2025. His most recent organ studies include attending the 2026 Haarlem Organ Festival in the Netherlands.
