The Rev. Libby Catania, Ph.D., Transitional Priest

Libby Catania is an Episcopal priest in the diocese of Massachusetts and the co-owner of Limina Renewal Center in Searsport, Maine. In June of 2023, she and her husband, Bill, opened Limina as a place of rest and renewal for people going through times of transition. They spend two weeks each month at Limina where Libby coordinates hospitality, facilitates retreats, and manages communications. She also has a spiritual direction practice in Maine and on Cape Cod. While on Cape each month, Libby loves supporting local congregations and clergy during times of transition. Having perviously served as rector of St. Mary’s in Barnstable, as senior associate rector at a large church in the Washington, D.C. area, and as an adjunct professor at Virginia Theological Seminary, Libby has experience with many aspects of congregational life. She especially enjoys preaching, working with children and youth, and with families facing transitions at the end of life.
