St. Christopher's Episcopal Church

Our New Rector

The Search Committee of St. Christopher’s welcomes this opportunity to introduce our new Rector, The Reverend Jennifer Zogg. Jennifer will be joining us in early June 2025. We enthusiastically and unanimously recommended her call to our vestry.

Jennifer comes to us from the Church of the Epiphany in Rumford, R.I., where she has served as Rector since 2015. Prior to that, she was the Associate Rector at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Rochester, N.Y. where she was ordained to the priesthood in 2008. A native of the Albany region of upstate New York, she graduated from the University of Rochester and then Yale Divinity School.

Jennifer has a deeply held commitment in her call to the priesthood. She is gifted in preaching, offering engaging and relevant sermons. She is experienced in pastoral care within her parish and in the community, serving as a chaplain for several senior living facilities. She has extensive training in spiritual formation through the Shalem Institute and has proven leadership strength at both the parish and diocesan levels. Twelve years ago she completed the pilgrimage of the Camino de Santiago and has recently been involved supporting national programs of clergy leadership and renewal.

You may recall that our parish survey highlighted the desire to develop deeper spiritual lives, support new members and families, and create opportunities to engage with our community. We strongly believe that Jennifer has been called to St. Christopher’s to lead us and walk with us on this journey.

Jennifer vacationed with her family in Eastham during her childhood and is familiar with our elbow of the Cape. She enjoys gardening and cooking, running, kayaking, yoga, traveling, hiking, and piano. We look forward to our work together as we build the next chapter at St. Christopher’s in Chatham.

Finally, we thank you for your prayers and support while the Search Committee and Jennifer were discerning this decision. Please continue to pray as we prepare for Jennifer’s arrival and welcoming to St. Christopher’s in June.

A Letter from the Rev. Zogg

Dear St Christopher’s,

I am thrilled and deeply grateful to be called as your next Rector. Through the search process, I came to know St. Christopher’s to be a place where relationships thrive and the needs of the wider community are served with passion and commitment. I was attracted to the way you encounter the living God through worship, beauty, pastoral care, and outreach ministries. The values of creativity, compassion, and connection have long guided the expression of my ministry and it is apparent they are values you share as well.

It will be exciting to join you in the summer when parish life is at its fullest. I hope to spend time getting to know as many of you as possible. May we joyfully discover together how God will deepen our spiritual lives and call us to grow in Christ’s service in the coming years. In the meantime, please keep me in your prayers as I say farewell to a congregation I love and make the transition to being a Cape Cod resident. You will remain in my prayers as well.

Blessings and Peace,

Rev’d Jennifer
